Those who possess Portuguese citizenship receive the right to work, settle and study in all the countries located within the European Union (EU). This includes the following countries:
Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.
- To have been born in the former Portuguese territories of Goa, Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli during the Portuguese sovereignty i.e., until 19 December 1961.
- To be descendant of parents or grandparents that were born in the territories listed above during the period of Portuguese.
- Must prove their residence in the period 1974 / 1975.
- The rights of all who are born in the former Portuguese territories during the period of Portuguese sovereignty are guaranteed by the records of his birth in Portugal.

Yes. Citizens born in the former territories of Portugal (Goa, Daman, Diu, Dadra, Nagar Haveli) are Portuguese citizens, including other family members e.g., children, grandchildren, etc. These descendants can also apply for Portuguese citizenship if they fall into the requirements mentioned above.
